Antipsychotic Drugs Prescribed For Children Linked to Weight Gain

Seroquel is used to treat mental disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and autism. They are suspected of causing rapid weight gain, even in the first week of taking the drugs.

Bipolar Disorder in Children and Adolescents: New Data to Inform Classification

Differences between research groups in the approaches used to diagnose bipolar disorder in children and adolescents have limited the comparability of findings across research studies and have impeded progress in understanding the course of illness, in delineating etiology, and in developing efficacious interventions.
