Guidelines for Students

CABF is often contacted by students writing research papers who ask for our help. Unfortunately, we do not have sufficient staff to provide such assistance. We put everything we have onto the website. You can search for any subject using our search tool.

The following Guidelines for Students set forth requirements for students requesting help from CABF in finding parents to interview for projects. Students are not permitted to solicit information from parents within CABF's on-line support groups or on the public forums of CABF without express written permission from the Editorial Committee or the Research Committee of CABF.

If your deadline permits, please provide the following information in a letter to the Editorial Committee of CABF by e-mail to cabf@bpkids.org

  1. Name of academic institution, name of instructor, and nature of assignment; expected due date; whether project will be published or distributed.
  2. Information about student (major, year in school).
  3. Whether photographs will be taken; if so, describe privacy of data collected, and copy of consent forms.
  4. How many subjects are requested?
  5. How should subjects contact you?

Students are requested to include Child & Adolescent Bipolar Foundation's current contact information as a reference in their work (Child & Adolescent Bipolar Foundation, 820 Davis St., Suite 520  Evanston, IL 60201-4448; phone number (847) 492-8519; and website address: http://www.bpkids.org/).
