Bring Change 2 Mind
Have you seen the campaign featuring actress Glenn Close and her sister which confronts, head-on, the stigma associated with mental illness?
CABF wishes to thank Ms. Close for leading this campaign as well as several key participants who donated their time, talent and resources on behalf of the cause. The public service announcement for the initiative was directed by nine-time nominated and two-time Oscar winning director, Ron Howard. Two-time Grammy winning composer and singer, John Mayer, donated his song, Say, for use in the PSA.
Ms. Close also led the team of leading mental health organizations, called BringChange2Mind.org, to combat the stigma related to mental illness
In the Media: "90210" Partners with CABF to Help Teens, Parents
Early in 2009, The Norman Lear Center contacted CABF on behalf of the CW network. The teen hit, 90210 planned to weave bipolar disorder into several upcoming episodes. As Erin Silver headed into crisis, and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, the network knew that the confusion and helplessness of Erin, her parents, and peers would resonate with the teens at home. Many viewers would have questions and be in need of help. CABF’s teen site, www.depressedteens.com/, was the CW network’s website of choice to send teens to for more information and support.
